A long-time client and her family say thank you

Many of our clients are elderly, on a fixed income, and live alone. For them, navigating finances and insurance can be challenging. At Hospice SLO County, we take away finance and insurance worries by offering our services free of charge. One phone call is all it takes to receive a plethora of support. 

Faith*, a widow with dementia, utilizes our In-Home and Pet Peace of Mind programs. She also receives Care Management assistance. Faith would not be able to afford these services from a private contractor. 

At one point, Faith's care needs quickly increased, and her doctor was not responsive to her repeated requests for an appointment. Our Care Manager assisted her admittance to the hospital. Once stabilized and home, she needed extra support. Our Care Manager found her a doctor who would come to her house. She coordinated with Faith's new doctor, neurologist, and Medi-Cal social worker to get Faith more hours of care. Throughout, she communicated with Faith's out-of-town family and kept them updated.

Faith has been our client for nearly four years, and we continue to serve her and continue to coordinate with her healthcare providers, family, and community to make sure she can live at home safely.

Faith and her family would like to thank the donors for supporting Hospice SLO County's services.
