HOSPICE OF SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY WALK FOR HEALING 2022
159 people logged an astounding 12,776 miles by walking, running, hiking, biking, swimming, dancing, and other activities throughout May and June 2022. There was participation in California, Arkansas, Indiana, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Ohio, and Washington. It was truly a walk across America!
471 people donated $53,537 to surpass our fundraising goal of $50,000! Hospice SLO County is extremely grateful for this tremendous support.
Individual Winners*
The “Individual with the most Footprints” was quite competitive this year!
Congratulations to Charlotte Hodgkinson who came in first and won the “Individual with the most Footprints” trophy with 130,894 Footprints. Charlotte raised $4,843 and logged 196.4 miles.
Coming in second was Rob Gordon with 129,675 Footprints. Rob participated in memory of his wife Jan and raised $4,525 and biked 331 miles.
As a reminder, 1 Miles covered = 50 Footprints; $1 raised = 25 Footprints.

Congratulations to Morris & Garritano who collectively earned 274,195 Footprints and came in first for the “Team with the most Footprints!”
With 33 staff members participating, this is the second year in a row that Morris & Garritano has come in first!

- Team Hospice Volunteers had 16 members and earned 186,194 Footprints! They also raised the most money of any team, a whopping $6,317.69!

The WALK FOR HEALING challenge raised funds to ensure Hospice SLO County has enough resources to recruit, train, supervise, and support volunteers. With the support of volunteers, staff, and donors, Hospice SLO County has a robust Counseling Program, a strong In-Home Support and End-of-Life Doula Program, a dedicated Pet Peace of Mind Program, and a growing Volunteer Corps. Hospice SLO County, a small but mighty local non-profit, has helped thousands of people over the past 44 years and with the support of our community, Hospice SLO County will thrive for another 44 years.
